2.Usage:

It can be applied as the third monomer in the product of polyester by direct esterification, to improve the dying ability of polyester and can also be widely applied in different industies as intermediate or modifier of medicine, pesticides and polyester.

5-SSIPA is used to prepare Amine-free water dispersible Polyester Resins and Polyurethane dispersions for various coatings applications. Typically, water-reducible Polyester Resins are processed to a high acid number followed by amine neutralization to form a water soluble salt. When incorporated into Polyester Resins, the sodiosulfo group of 5-SSIPA provides the ionic character needed for water dispersibility allowing Amine-free, water dispersible Polyester Resins to be produced. It is an Aromatic Diacid structurally similar to PIA(Purified Isophthalic Acid). The Aromatic Ring imparts excellent hardness and high gloss properties to coating films.
